the two latest protoypes, they both have light-sensors for light seeking behaviour. with a simple analog circuit the difference between two light dependent resistors is measured, if the difference exceeds a certain threshold the movement of the leg on the brighter side is inhibited. a third light sensor in the middle tells the robot when it has found a place with sufficient light, the robot stops moving. the lightseekers where shown at the glas moog during the lange nacht der museen in cologne in 2004 and at the transmediale 2005 in combination with a workshop together with ralf schreiber entitled chirping and crawling.
